GiveDirectly aims to reshape international giving -  and millions of lives - by allowing donors to provide capital grants directly to the world’s poorest. The Brookings Institution estimates that 80B of cash transfers would be required to eliminate the poverty gap; the aid sector currently spends 140B each year, much of which is spent on evidence-free interventions.  We want to change that, establishing a benchmark as Vanguard did for the financial industry (i.e., index fund), and in the process accelerate the end of extreme poverty.

Role overview:

We are looking for a versatile and energetic individual who will both provide essential executive support functions, and help to shape a positive and productive NY office culture.  Our ideal candidate has a natural knack for organization and enjoys working in a fast-paced, early-stage environment. The individual in this role must excel at dynamically prioritizing across a range of administrative, support, and office management functions, with room for growth on all dimensions as the organization scales.



  • Optimizing schedules for senior management team across multiple timezones, client/external and internal meetings, and events
  • Coordinating travel logistics, including complex international itineraries & time/expense tracking
  • Owning the ins and outs of cultivating a positive office culture in NY, including helping to organize social events and retreats
  • Crafting a welcoming and professional experience for visitors and new hires
  • Promoting a productive office environment by ordering snacks/supplies and ensuring a high bar for orderliness/cleanliness

We are looking for people with:

  • 2+ years of experience in a support role
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office, Google suite, etc.)
  • Comfort operating in a culture of direct, candid feedback
