Background

GiveDirectly is a nonprofit that delivers unconditional cash transfers to people in need. We operate around the world, and have now launched in the Bahamas to aid people in recovering from Hurricane Dorian. We are now looking for Call Center Field Officers to help us enroll applicants and operate our program in Grand Bahama.

Position overview

Call Center Field Officers will be able to complete a range of the following tasks:

  • Reiterate the information given to applicants about the program, and respond to their questions and concerns over phone
  • Schedule follow-up appointments for applicants and perform telephone surveys 
  • Translate (where necessary) complex questions and responses between the potential recipients and the Managers/Directors
  • Conduct other research/logistical tasks where required

Logistical details

  • GiveDirectly’s Grand Bahama project will last until November 20, 2019.
  • Field Officers may work in Freeport, High Rock, and other locations where we are enrolling applicants
  • We expect Field Officers will work 10 hours/day, although the hours will vary, and commit to at least 4 days of work.
  • All Call Center Field Officers will attend a (paid) GiveDirectly training session, and will use GiveDirectly-issued tech for data collection and phone calls 

 

Required skills

  • Great communication skills – will explain the program to potential beneficiaries, and answer questions in English
  • Strong English skills – will need to communicate clearly in English with Mangers/Directors
  • Technical literacy – must use a smartphone to quickly and accurately record recipient details, must be able to use a computer to enter timesheets and expenses 
  • Fast learner – must learn the complexities of our enrolment process, and communicate those to applicants
